MUSIC EDUCATION
WORKSHOPS AND MASTERCLASSES
We host workshops and masterclasses for students and performers with varying levels of musicianship. We hire acclaimed musicians to deliver high-quality sessions for small to large groups. Prior workshop hosts have included: Laura Jurd and Elliot Galvin from Dinosaur, Dominic Ashworth and Karen Sharp.
Our centre is the ideal venue for workshops. We have onsight research facilities, a 'Media Centre', a live performance stage and we are conveniently located.
Please see our events listing page, join our networking group, or subscribe to our newsletter to keep up to date with workshops and masterclasses.

PAST GCSE CURRICULUM EVENT EXAMPLE
OUR WORK WITH SCHOOLS
We collaborate with local schools, including Westcliff High School and Southend High School, to host GCSE focused workshops to aid with the school curriculum.
We feel it is important to support the education of jazz music and increase educational opportunities for students.
EXAMPLE EVENT
Our workshop 'An analysis of Esperanza Spalding's rendition of Samba El Preludio' took place in 2018 and was organised on a Heritage Fund Grant. A free admission event presented by professional musicians/educators Robin Porter and Greg Sanders. The students were welcomed to bring instruments and get involved with practical demonstrations of the music.
It is our aim to create more opportunities and workshops for students in the future. Your support can help us do this and keep these events admission free.
