JCUK presents TJ Johnson and Al Nicholls

Making his second appearance at The Jazz Centre UK, TJ Johnson is a remarkable singer/piano player, whose music encompasses jazz, blues, swing, and gospel.  TJ will take you on a musical trail from the smoky jazz dives of New Orleans through the foot tapping honky tonks of Texas to the gin-soaked speakeasies of New York.  Drawing from a rich, eclectic mix of influences such as Dr John, Ray Charles, Jimmy Witherspoon, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson, TJ shapes the music into his own individual style with a professional yet relaxed stage manner.  He scored a big hit playing solo at the JCUK last year: this time he plays in duo format with the great Al Nicholls on saxophone.
