Paul Whiteman's dance-driven jazz became popular in Sweden in the 1920's. Over time, Swedish musicians developed their own "sound" and by the 1950s a strong local jazz genre was established.

After an early enthusiasm for Paul Whiteman's dance music, Swedish musicians developed their own distinctive style.  This event will discover some of the contributors and explore how a dancehall craze led to an additional national style of music
